Relationships are hard.  You MUST work for those relationships that really matter to you.

Do you struggle with some of your closest and most important relationships?  It could be the relationship with your spouse, your child, your parent or even your boss or co-worker.

What do you experience when these relationships suffer?

Loss of sleep

Having stress in your most important relationships can affect every area of your life. The worry about losing your marriage or the precious relationship of a child can lead to many sleepless nights. I’ve laid awake many nights worried about the loneliness of a broken relationship.

Issues with Appetite

When relationships are rocky, we tend to overeat or not eat at all.  I’ve had an argument with a boss that “caused” me to eat an entire peach pie in one sitting.  And I’ve recovered from an affair which “caused” me to not eat for almost 3 weeks.

Collateral Damage

Relationship issues in one area can immediately affect other relationships in your life.  I’ve had an argument with my husband set my mood such that I had multiple arguments with co-workers, children and even strangers.  Not being able to handle my emotional reaction to the first argument led me to damage other relationships.

How will our retreat help?

Relationships are connected to some of our strongest emotions.  Positive relationships help us feel happy, content and calm and can even lead to better health and longer life – things we all really want!

In this weekend retreat, Dr. Gardiner will apply the content from her book, The Gap Between Us, along with guided activities with the horses to help us strengthen and heal the most important relationships in our lives.  We will focus on 4 primary building blocks:

self awareness

self management

social awareness

relationship management
