frequently asked questions?
❓ What ages is Ranch Days designed for?
Ranch Days is best suited for children ages 5–12. We create activities that are hands-on, age-appropriate, and allow kids to learn through doing. Younger or older siblings are welcome to attend as observers with parent supervision.
❓ Can parents stay during the session?
Yes! Parents are welcome to drop off or stay for the entire session. We also have a small playground available for siblings who tag along. Please note: All children must be supervised at all times, especially near the pond on property.
❓ What should my child wear and bring?
-
Closed-toe shoes are required when working around horses.
-
Dress in weather-appropriate layers — mornings can be chilly! Knit gloves and hats are great for early sessions.
-
Bring a water bottle and sunscreen if needed.
-
No need to bring tools or supplies — we provide everything needed for the activities.
❓ Will kids be riding horses?
In most weeks, our focus is on ground-based horsemanship and ranch skills, but Week 5 may include a short ride or horse-leading experience depending on weather and group readiness. All horse activities are supervised by trained staff and safety gear is provided.
❓ What happens if it rains?
We will still hold Ranch Days rain or shine, with indoor activities and sheltered spaces available. Please dress accordingly and bring rain boots if needed.
❓ Do you offer refunds or makeup days?
Due to limited capacity and planning, we do not offer refunds once the session begins. If your child has to miss a week, we’re happy to provide a handout or take-home activity so they can still participate in the learning.
❓ Is this a drop-in program?
No — Ranch Days is a 5-week series, and we encourage participants to attend each week for the full experience. Each weekly session builds on the last, and kids form connections with the horses and their peers.
